My dear extraordinary youth, you were sent to earth at this precise time, the most crucial time in the history of the world, to help gather Israel. There is nothing happening on this earth right now that is more important than that. There is nothing of greater consequence. Absolutely nothing. This gathering should mean everything to you. This is the mission for which you were sent to earth. So my question to you is “Are you willing to enlist in the youth battalion of the Lord to help gather Israel?” Please think about it. -President Russell M. Nelson

3 COUNTRIES IN 1 WEEK!!!

Okayy so this has been a whack week. I have been in Albania, Kosovo, and Macedonia woot woot! This week has been really busy opening Prishtina so we've had to do a lot of work finding records, people to teach, and making plans to have the work EXPLODE in Kosovo! Oh also I think I forgot to mention that they LITERALLY SPEAK A DIFFERENT DIALOGUE OF ALBANIAN IN KOSOVO HAHA IT'S SO HARD BUT AWESOME. We also had zone conference in Macedonia (about a 2ish hour drive away) and that was such a blast. Macedonia is beautiful wowww. They are also quite developed there I had no idea. It was kinda funny too because my companion and I gave a training and we're the only sisters with like 7 elders lol and I have only been here a month lol. Our zone is so small HAHA.  Kosovo is basically the same as Albania besides that they have Burger King and KFC.

KOSOVO CULTURE SHOCKS:
1. Okay this is hilarious but Kosovars LOVEEE BILL CLINTON. Oh my word. There are huge posters of him everywhere and they just love that guy so much for helping liberate them from Serbia. Also, the American flag can be found here almost more than the Kosovo or Albanian flag lol they love America. Plus everyone always wants to know if me and Bill Clinton are friends HAAH.
2. Speaking of Serbia, Kosovars hate Serbia with all their might. In fact, a lot of road signs are in Serbian but they have blocked out any words that are in Serbian and HATE anything that has to do with Serbia. So there's tons of blacked out road signs with no directions.
3. There is a rule here which is that you NEVER walk into someone's house without taking your shoes off outside. It's super disrespectful to walk inside when wearing shoes.

Funnies:
1. There is this cute senior couple from Austria and their bank accounts were having some major issues here in Kosovo. The bank wouldn't give them their money but then it was kinda funny because the bank kept saying that they needed to get a signature from President Russell M. Nelson which is a little difficult hehe. But then they changed their minds and said that they wanted a signature from the owner of the church hahahah ummm yeah I would love to have a signature from the owner of our church too hehehe.
2. It's a mission rule that you have to sleep in separate beds from your companion (makes sense right?) well our landlord couldn't figure out how to get two beds into the small room so he turned our entire bedroom into a huge bed hahaha. There are two beds however, because it's so small our entire bedroom is just one huge bed how awesome.
3. Oh also this week our washer exploded and there was just water everywhere lol. There was so much water and all of Motra Adams clothes were just sopping wet hahah also we don't have dryers idk if I mentioned that.

Food for the spirit:
1. The gospel is very new in Kosovo. We are in a branch with about 15 members all of which live 30+ min away. Yet they come every week. They all love each other so much and are the most christlike people I have ever met. They are taking ministering to a whole other level. They are always welcoming anyone new, loving each other, and serving wherever they can even though they are completely different from one another. I think we can all follow their example and remember what it truly means to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
2. We met the most amazing people this week. There are these twins (Elda and Elsa) that are our best friends. Within our first hour in Kosovo we had a lesson with them and they immediately fell in love with us. They have never seen the sister missionaries before so they were so excited to meet us! They said that we were the answer to their prayers awww I love them so much. They pray every day, read the scriptures every day, come to church, and are literally always at the church for activities because they want to be by the spirit. They know this is true. This was a hard week for all of us though. They asked their parents if they could be baptized (because they are minors) and their parents said no. Ohhh how that breaks my heart. We will be praying hard for these two beautiful souls. In this culture the people often times have to choose between family and Christ because they will be either killed or disowned. They are already under heavy persecution from their schoolmates for even attending a christian church which is so hard. I am so proud of them and look up to them so much. We are soooo lucky in America. Please don't take that freedom for granted.
3. This week we went music contacting with the elders. Basically what happens is that some of us sing and play instruments while the rest talk to people in the road (lol I bet you can guess which part I played in this). First of all, the spirit was so strong with their singing and it brought so many people over. It was so amazing to see music really touch their hearts. Also- I had a cool experience! I saw this woman and just had the strongest impression to talk to her! She said that she had seen the missionaries around before but they have never talked to her and she knew that if it was from God that they would talk to her. She was so excited that I stopped her that she just started kissing me all over hahah and said that we can meet this week! AHHH I can't wait!!!

DURRESS, YOU'VE BEEN GOOD TO ME. GOODBYE FOR NOW...

HEY FOLKS I GOT SOME BIG NEWS THIS WEEK!! Okay so it's been an awesome week here in Albania. We had sister's conference where I got to see tons of my cute friends from the MTC, General Conference which was stinkin awesome, and we got transfer calls!! I will be opening an area in the country of Kosovo with my awesome trainer Motra Adams! We will be serving in Prishtina, Kosovo which is right by Serbia. We will be the only sister's in Kosovo and the Sister Training Leaders so this week has got some adventures ahead of us for sure. Woot Woot I can't wait!!

Crazy Culture Shocks this week:
1. We are now entering into spring in Albania and it rains soooo much. It's actually beautiful and sounds amazing I love it. However, Albanian's are actually terrified of the rain because they think they're going to get sick lol so they hate it and are always really worried about us. The roads also flood a lot and everyone here wears so many layers to block the rain.
2. There is this traditional dance here that is super popular called Vale. It's often used at weddings (ALBANIA WEDDINGS ARE HUGE) but when we visit people they love to do a quick vale dance with us lol.
3. At the Muslim Mosques they do this call thing I think 5 times a day and it's so loud and so interesting to hear that so often.
4. Street contacting is so successful here because if you just hold out your hand Albanian's are like attracted to it and almost HAVE to shake it haha it's so hilarious. They're just culturally so nice holy cow.
5. Soo Albanian's don't exactly use plates. They just lay out all the food on the table and it's basically "hand salad" you just grab it and eat it and love it and be happy. It's so hilarious and awesome.

Knee Slappers:
1. Surprise surprise this week I slept talked again and got on my knees and just said a whole prayer in Albanian lol. The best part is that I didn't wake up until both my companions said "Amen" because I totally woke them up HAHA.
2. We had a big family home evening party because our friend Elder Jakaj is leaving and since Albanian's love to party there were about 20 people there and 15 of which weren't invited. To make matters worse, we accidentally bought coffee ice cream and brought it to the party and then afterwards all the new members were like, "Whoa this is the best ice cream ever what's it called so I can buy some?" and we were like oh no hahhaha our mistake.
3. Being blonde is super interesting here. Everyone thinks that if they take a picture with me that it will make them popular so all the member's keep taking pictures with me and it's cracking me up. I did take this picture with an investigator which was a bad idea because he posted it on social media that I'm his wife... glad that got deleted hahah.
4. This story is actually from last week but I forgot to share it and it was so funny. When we went on exchanges in Tirana we went to the bishops house. In their living room was TONS of these photos of this body builder guy just flexing haha it was so odd. There were pictures everywhere and my explanation is not doing it justice. Come to find out, the guy in the photos IS the BISHOP HAHA IT WAS SO FUNNY. He is very proud of himself, as he should be. If my muscles were that big I would probably do the same thing. ;)

Spiritual Stuff!:
1. General Conference was soooo awesome. If you didn't get the chance to watch it I highly encourage you to watch it because it was so powerful! I got so many answers to questions it was quite a miracle. I especially loved the talk about how the goodness of God is immediate. Woww it's so true. God loves us so much and wants to bless us so much. We are always within reach of his out reached hand.
2. Another miracle this week was that we met this woman named Myzejene (Moozay- enay) who wanted a Book of Mormon. We gave her a book and talked to her and she told us she could feel this warm excitement in her heart. That was the spirit!! Ahhh so exciting. We met with her a few more times and she came to family home evening, general conference, and all our other activities and she is just eating it up. The spirit is so strong and she is acting on those impressions and said she's finding peace in her life. What a miracle.
3. One of the people we're teaching, Sara, heard some false things about The Book of Mormon this week and said she didn't want to meet with us anymore. The conversation ended with us bearing strong testimony that if she read The Book of Mormon for herself and prayed sincerely to Heavenly Father that she would know for herself. It was super hard to have that conversation with her and my heart just broke. However, afterwards in conference President Nelson addressed EVERY "issue" she discovered. His talk was so divinely inspired it was so amazing. I know that if she diligently works with faith to read The Book of Mormon she'll receive the same witness I have received from the spirit, that The Book of Mormon is true. And the same thing will happen for you.

I love you all so much! Have a fantastic week and do something good today!!

CHICKEN'S AND GOAT'S (that's a really lame title HAHA)

MARCH 25TH-APRIL 1ST,  2019

WHAT IS KICKIN??
Here's some awesome deits about my week. This week was crazy. We traveled to Tirana for exchanges and we also went to Shkodër for district council which is this beautiful city about 2 hours away. Shkodër straight up looks like Ireland.. at least I think.. I don't know I've never been there. But anyways, it is just green fields, lots of goats, lots of mosques, beautiful mountains, and has crazy beautiful boulevards. I love Albania more and more everyday.

Crazy Culture Shocks:
1. Albanian's hang stuffed animals outside their houses or on gates to ward off evil spirits... kinda creepy but pretty hilarious.
2. Okay so Albanian's are so hilarious but they never stop talking. They could talk for hours if you don't interrupt them it's so funny. I fit in perfectly in this place let me tell ya... also.. THEY ARE ALWAYS YELLING. Not even kidding they always are just talking so loudly over each other it's so awesome.
3. So Albanian's actually don't have addresses... they give directions by saying, "go straight, turn right, and turn left" that's all we get hehe. Even our mission home is the "general direction" of where it's located how funny.
4. There are mosques everywhere!!! They are almost as many mosques as there are our churches in Utah lol. Also they kind of look like rapunzel's castle hehe.
5. There are animals everywhere. There are so many stray dogs it's so sad. Also, it's not everyday that you just see goats and chickens in the middle of the city :)

Kinda funny stuff:
1. Albanian's are very literal. So this week we had a fun Come Follow Me family night and at one point I had mentioned that they should NEVER take their eyes of the Savior and that we should always be looking at him. They totally thought I was being serious so everyone was looking at each other all confused and worried because they couldn't see him. Hahah oh man that was fun to explain.
2. We are teaching these Turkish ladies English but the problem is that they don't speak very good English or Albanian so we usually just play charades. They are older ladies and they kind of remind me of the ducks on the Aristocats disney movie because they just talk and giggle the whole time oh man they're so cute.
3. So this week we had exchanges and I went to Tirana with Motra Maurik and we were served food like usual but this time it was different. We got served homemade dhallë which is straight up cheese that you drink. Oh man that stuff is so nasty. But to make things much better this sweet ladies homemade the dhallë which made it really chunky and then she watched me drink every last ounce of my water bottle sized drink. The next day I threw up so there's that. (P.s. the food handling laws here are kind of non-existent so they don't really sanitize a lot of stuff lol...)

Spiritual wonders:
1. We had this amazing lesson this week with this wonderful woman named Flutura (Flootoora). She is the definition of AMAZING. She lives by the beach in this tiny hut. She has no electricity, a 2 room house, hardly anything to block out the cold, and she usually sleeps outside or on a sleeping bag in the kitchen and she is a miracle. She loves to sing so we sang "I am a Child of God" with her and the spirit was so strong. The thing about Flutura is that she gets it. She just gets the gospel. Despite her hard living conditions she is one of the strongest people I ever met. She constantly reads, prays, and comes to church even though she lives about 20 minutes away. She is going to be baptized on April 20th we are so excited for that beautiful spirit!!!!!! I want to be more like Flutura.
2. The past 2 weeks we have been absolutely bombarded with people. Contacting has been so crazy good, all the members want to meet with us, and we are getting numbers like crazy. This is an answer to my prayers. I prayed so hard when I was home that the people of Albania would be prepared to hear the perfect message of the gospel and those prayers are being answered. It has been unreal.
3. On Sunday night there was a temple preparation class for the 2 people preparing to go to the temple this month! It was the coolest class ever. Our Branch President, President Mema conducted the meeting and he is a rockstar. I love one line that he said, " The symbols are the language of the eternities, the spirit, revelation, and Christ. " It was a super awesome. Also it was so inspiring to see how excited these souls were to travel to the temple. For my Utah folks, REMEMBER HOW BLESSED WE ARE TO LIVE BY SO MANY TEMPLES. PLEASE GO.

Smile lots, stay safe, and keep sharing your testimonies!!! I love you all so much!!!!

ALBANIA ROCKS-

MARCH 19TH- MARCH 25TH

Çkemi!! I am alive and well and LOVING EVERY SECOND OF ALBANIA. This is my place. I am meant to be here.

The week's details: Alright so after traveling over 24 hours by myself I finally made it to Albania. I am serving in the beautiful city called Durrës. It is south of the big city, Tirana, and is right along the coast. IT IS GORGEOUS HERE WOWW. The city is lots of concrete buildings with laundry hanging outside and outside the city is rolling hills, goats, and cows. The beach is so pretty too. I am in a trio for the next 2 weeks and then there will be some changes so I'll keep you all posted. My comps are Motra Adams (Ëdëms) and Motra Pugsley (Pëgsli) and they are absolutely FANTASTIC. The language is extremely difficult but I've been able to keep up pretty well. We also do a lot of street contacting here and everyone is so kind and welcoming.

Culture SHOCKS:
1. Okay the driving here is unreal. First of all, nobody knows how to drive. (Mom you would die here). Basically, everyone just goes where ever the heck they want it is hilarious. There are like now laws whatsoever. HAHA. Like picture a 3 lane round about where people come in and out wherever they please, honk at anything that moves, with the only rule being to protect your own front bumper. I LOVE IT HAHAA IT IS SO HILARIOUS. Cars double parallel park all the time and drive on the wrong side of the road and man it's just a blast.
2. In Albania like 80% of the people are Muslim. A lot of them aren't practicing, but it still can be hard to teach them. However, they're so kind and understanding and most of them believe in some kind of God. The mosques here are beautiful too.
3. Apparently in Albania if you compliment someone on something they're supposed to give it to you.... yeah I experienced both sides of that and I felt so bad.
4. There are these old men EVERYONE (they are called xhaxha's  pronounced jaja) and they just sit in coffee shops or in the parks and there's tons of them outside always. Actually, that's one thing I love about Albania is that people are ALWAYS outside especially when the whether is nice. It is amazing. Also everyone kisses here as a greeting (on the cheek right side and then left). It is so stinkin cute wow.
5. It is also culture for Albanian's to serve candies, fruit juices, and tea when you come into their homes and it's so nice. The tea, fresh bread, and fruits are seriously amazing. THE FOOD IS TO DIE FOR HERE.

Funnies:
1. Alright some of the funniest things happened this week but I can't even describe them so I'll stick with my "mediocre" funnies. First of all, everyone here has dark dark hair for the most part so they all have nicknamed me blondie and always call me that!! They love my long blonde hair ;)
2. Another funny thing... We were knocking doors and talking to this wonderful mom and her daughter when the daughter said that she knew Italian. I responded and said, wow really?!! Bonjour! with an awkward wave of my hand. Oh my gosh. Lol. She gave me an uncomfortable smile and then completely disengaged herself from our conversation HAHA. I started laughing and almost peed my pants though. Apparently I don't know Shqip (Albanian) or Italian.
3. We conducted a family home evening for our tiny little branch we have and it was so fun. There is the man named Amiliano who is so competitive (like me) and so we were just going at it in minute to win-it- games it was freaking hilarious especially because that was like my second day here when I could hardly say anything in Albanian HA HA. Also I hate to say it but Albanian's are tone def. It is so great though. When we sing hymns without a piano you don't even know remotely what the tune is HAHA. Aw they are such sweetie pies.

Spiritual:
1. My second day here we met the most amazing girl. Her name is Sara and she is PERFECT. She came in contact with the two elders in our area and immediately fell in love with what they taught her. She met with her and all she wanted to do was join and be a part of religion. She wanted to know more and we had the perfect thing for her. We met with her two days in a row, she came to church, she's been reading and praying, and she basically almost quoted scripture when we got together and it was the most amazing thing. She is so prepared for the gospel. She is a miracle. I am so excited for her.
2. Another spiritual thought is that I have absolutely had to rely on my Savior this week. As I have been immersed in this culture I didn't think I would have been able to speak to anyone. After a slight moment of doubt I prayed for the gift of tongues and after much hard work this week it is starting to come. I have been able to teach people solo and talk to people and there have been SOOO MANY MIRACLES.
3. We were contacting at the beach when both Motra Pëglsi and I both had the same impression to approach this woman and her son. They are named Elona and Lorenzo and the spirit absolutely guided us to them. We talked to them and found out that they had been taking the lessons from the missionaries but then she was robbed and lost her phone and was never able to find the missionaries again. UNTIL WE FOUND HER. We are so excited to meet with her. The Lord works in mysterious ways.
4. Church was absolutely amazing on Sunday. It was so beautiful to hear the prayers in Shqip it was so powerful. Our branch is the biggest in Albania with about 30 including the missionaries. I had the opportunity to give my testimony and it was such a privilege. I found out that some people have to walk over 30 min just to get to church and it was extremely humbling. One of the Elders serving here in Durrës is a native here (Elder Jakaj) and said that it is a choice. A choice that the members here know and love. A choice that they make simply because they love their Savior and know this church is true. Think about your faith this week. What sacrifices are you willing to make?

Anyways, that doesn't even touch the surface of my week because it has been so wonderful. I am so thankful for this opportunity to serve. I love you all and hope you have an amazing week!!!

SHE'S ALIVE!!!!

WASSUP EVERYONE!!!!!
What a happy day!!! I am back from the dead!!!

Here's the details: My last week in the MTC I tore my ACL (again). I was playing volleyball and bam there it went. That's why they discourage competitive play in the MTC..... jokes jokes. I got surgery a week later and am doing better than ever. After a few weeks of physical therapy, studying, and some good ol family time I am now getting ready to depart (finally) to the beautiful Albania!!!!!! I'll still get to fulfill my whole mission so I now come home in August of 2020!

I want to share with you my simple testimony that God hears and answers our prayers. Sometimes answers come quickly, sometimes they take awhile, and sometimes they don't come until Heaven. But most importantly, they come!!!! This trial has been a tough one for me but I learned a very important concept. God is VERY aware of the things that go on in our lives. He will ALWAYS HELP YOU. The hard part is trusting in his timing, but I can bear testimony that when you do so, MIRACLES will happen. You just have to be courageous and look for those miracles!

I'm thankful for this trial because it has done nothing but prepare me for what is to come. So many miracles have come my way and I've been so blessed. I am thankful for my Savior who has helped me get through every step of the way.  I love you all and am thankful for your constant support!! <3 My next email will be from THEE Albania. Wahoo!!

P.s. My email changed to hannah.sutton@missionary.org. As far as I know, the emails sent to the myldsmail.net address will be forwarded to me for a short time.

Sorry again for being MIA the past 2 months;)

Stake Conference March 2019

Prior to Leaving Hannah was asked to give a talk in Stake Conference.  March 10th, 2019

Hello Brothers and Sisters! I’m so excited to have the opportunity to be here today along
with such amazing speakers. To briefly introduce myself, my name is Hannah Sutton, I’m
in the 7th ward, and I AM a missionary. I have been called to serve in the Adriatic South
Mission speaking Albanian. I have already trained for 9 weeks at the MTC and I even
had my bags packed and everything when I tore my ACL and had to come home for
surgery. The good news is that after 2 months I am a walking miracle and will finally
head to Albania within the next 2 weeks. This trial of mine fits in nicely today because
the topic I’ve been asked to speak on is The Trials of Missionary Work and How they
bring us closer to Christ.
Missionary work is hard. It’s hard for the young adults to learn new languages and leave
home. It’s hard for senior couples to leave their families and meet new people. And it is
also hard for us missionaries here who are buried in work, school, raising families, and
have other trials of our own. But we have to remember that opposition and adversity are
part of the plan and Satan’s most heavy weighed effort is to destroy whatever is most
important to God’s plan. Missionary work can be hard, reaching out to our neighbors can
be hard, bearing our testimonies can be hard, and even smiling can sometimes be hard.
But all these things are hard because they’re important.
My first Sunday in my home ward after coming home, my awesome bishop asked me to
bear my testimony in sacrament meeting but I didn’t have the courage to say yes. That
was a hard thing for me! I was sad and about coming home that I couldn’t bear the
thought about standing in front of everyone. But then on my way home I thought, “I am
absolutely pretty much the worst missionary ever and I just said no to bearing my
testimony. What kind of missionary does that?” And I immediately had regrets for saying
no. I was only thinking about myself and in fact I actually felt farther from my Savior in
that very moment. But I have grown from my hard experience and have learned a lot
along the way, PLUS not long after that I got asked to speak in stake conference so my
advice today is to ALWAYS BEAR TESTIMONY. jkjk so here’s my second chance to
redeem myself.
But, the point is this, doing his work, in whatever ways we can, will bring us closer to
him. We ALL are Christ’s missionaries and he wants us listening to the spirit, bearing
testimony, and loving and ministering to one another because it is POWERFUL. I have
witnessed this power of the spirit dozens of times in the MTC and at home and those are
the times I feel closest to my Savior. All of us face fears and trials. We’ve lost loved

ones, have been hurt, lost, afraid, busy, discouraged, lonely and exhausted. But when we
grab Christ’s extended arm, and engage in his work we rise above those trials.
To put this in visual perspective, it reminds me of eagles. Eagles are able to spot the
Storms as they are coming. Instead of hiding, the eagle will fly to some high point and
then wait for the winds to come. It’s hard and scary for the eagle to fly higher while he’s
battling the winds!! But, when the storm hits, the eagle sets its wings so that the wind can
pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle soars above
it. The eagle does not escape or hide from the storm instead it uses the storm to lift it
higher. When the storms of life or challenges hit us we often can’t hide from therm.
However, we can rise above them. Those storms of life and “the hard things” build us
stronger and our works and efforts during the stormy winds are what draw us nearer to
our Savior.
Despite the numberless storms Christ faced, he still was the kindest and best missionary.
There’s no better way to come closer to Christ than by following his perfect example. We
have heard the phrase, “What would Jesus do?” Which is a great motto to follow. But a
phrase I’ve almost liked even better is, “What would Jesus feel?” What did He feel when
He healed the lepers and befriended the sinners? What did He feel when he helped the
poor and taught the weak? He ministered to many and HE loves all. Each day we are
striving to feel as he felt so that we can do as he did. In 2018 Elder Holland said, QUOTE
“Our relationship to Christ will be determined- or at least affected- by our relationship to
each other.”  But we ALWAYS engage in missionary work with the Savior
by our side. In The Book of Mormon it talks about how The Sons of Mosiah had many
sufferings while they preached to the Lamanites. But they prayed and were comforted
and they had courage through the hard things. When we rely on our Savior and do his
work we too can be comforted and have courage and as we grow and love and minister,
we will draw closer to our Savior than ever before. We will rise above the storms and be
built strong together.
I have had my own share of storms in my life, especially as a missionary. I was known at
the MTC as the most excited missionary and then life literally- knocked me down. But as
I have immersed myself in his work both at home and at the MTC I have come to know
my Savior. I’ve learned about his true character, I have felt his love, and I have witnessed
his divine help through my storms. Missionary work is truly marvelous.
